DERMAPLANING
About Dermaplaning
Dermaplaning is a safe alternative to chemical and manual exfoliation. It removes the outer most layers of dead skin cells leaving the skin immediately smooth and glowing.
Dermaplaning can be performed every 4 to 6 weeks. We want the skin to complete its normal skin cycle of approximately 30 days, to allow for a full turnover of the outer layer of skin.
How it works:
Dermaplaning works by using a sterile surgical blade to gently exfoliate the surface of the skin.
The blade removes dead skin cells and vellus facial hair (often called “peach fuzz”).
This process helps create a smoother, brighter complexion and can improve the absorption of skincare products as we have more direct access to the deeper layers of the skin.
Because dermaplaning only affects the surface of the skin, it does not change hair growth or make hair grow back thicker. It is suitable for many skin types, though people with active acne or certain skin conditions may need to avoid the treatment or consult a skincare professional first.

Pre-Care
Please discontinue any products containing active ingredients 7 days prior to treatment, such as: Retinol, AHAs and BHAs
Why? Dermaplaining is the act of physically removing the outer layer of skin, and Retinoids, AHAs and BHAs have often already thinned out the layer we are targeting, so we’d be over exfoliating our skin.
Do not wax or use depilatory creams on the treatment areas for 14 days prior to treatment.
DO NOT use self-tanning agents for at least two weeks before any treatment
Do not pick, scratch, pull or rub your skin during and 2 days after treatment
Avoid extensive exercise, sweating, makeup, sun or tanning beds, hot water, saunas, etc. for 48 hours after
Sanitize and disinfect your cell phone, makeup brushes and pillowcases
Apply moisturizer more frequently for the first 48 hours after treatment
Apply Sunscreen
Avoid products with active ingredients(Retinoids, AHAs and BHAs) 2 to 7 days following the treatment
